Personal teaching and class joining

  1. Independent teaching does not require institutional affiliation. Institution administration is optional for central structure, memberships, roles and reports.
  2. Approved class rules are Open enrollment, Roster restricted and Approval required. Joining applies to the exact class only and never grants administrative or support authority.
  3. The current checkpoint is closed: Personal classes presents the rules but does not create a class, account, invitation or enrollment. Activation requires managed identity verification, approved delivery and authenticated acceptance.

These approved joins do not require owner preapproval of every student email. Editable name, ID and email still do not prove identity or transfer history; legacy linking stays closed.

Common questions

Can I join now?

Not through this closed adapter. Use your administered account and existing class process. First-password setup at /auth/invite does not enroll you or activate the owner; genuine invitation-flow evidence remains pending.

Who reviews access?

The instructor reviews the class request with current permission, required MFA, reason and audit; another person’s marks are never transferred.

Sign in and find your classes

  1. Use your administered email and password, then open My classes or Activities. An active account is not enrollment: your current institution membership and reviewed section enrollment must allow access.
  2. Read an unavailable/connection message carefully. For missing enrollment or permissions, ask the institution to review your access; for a connection error, retry the read when connected.

An attendance code, student ID or help page never establishes identity or grants access.

Common questions

Why can I sign in but not see a class?

Membership, enrollment, account/institution status and current availability are separate checks. Do not create another account or guess someone else’s identifiers.

Explicitly confirm attendance

  1. Open the attendance join page from the shared QR or enter the code. Check the session, then explicitly confirm while it is open and you are eligible. Scanning alone is not check-in.
  2. Open your class attendance history to read your own record. Where offered, submit a correction request with an explanation and follow its status; staff review is separate from submission.

Expired/closed sessions cannot be treated as successful attendance. Assignments, live answers and exit tickets do not check you in.

Common questions

Does the QR prove physical presence?

No. Codes can be shared and only locate the session. The recorded fact is your authorized explicit check-in, not an independent presence guarantee.

Start, save and submit an assignment

  1. Open an available assignment and review its navigation, duration and attempt rules. Enter its passcode if requested; it remains transient and does not grant eligibility. Your own allowed window and effective timing are shown where applicable.
  2. Answer and wait for saved confirmation. A pending or disconnected edit is not confirmed storage. Refresh/resume reads the saved attempt; a different session may be read-only until explicit takeover. Takeover never adds time.
  3. Use Submit and its confirmation when ready. Server time enforces deadlines even if your local clock differs; last-minute edits may not be accepted. For an unknown result use explicit Check, not another submission.

Resume does not reset a frozen deadline or bypass the hard availability end. No guaranteed offline upload queue is promised.

Common questions

The first Check failed—should I submit again?

No. Keep the page open and explicitly check the exact outcome again. Only a confirmed not-found result may offer the same-request resend; never blindly repeat.

Answer different question types

  1. For matching, assign the offered pairs with the controls; for picture choice, inspect the private image and alternative text. Reading/case content is distinct from a graded answer.
  2. Numeric responses support the accepted Arabic digits/decimal input. Follow any unit instruction. A rounded-value comparison policy compares the value, not how many significant digits you typed.
  3. For multiple select, follow the displayed scoring policy. All-or-nothing, partial credit with zero floor and opt-in signed penalties are different policies; selecting every option is not guaranteed full credit.

Short/open responses may require human or rubric review. AI advice is private assistance to staff, never an autonomous grade.

Common questions

Can my score be negative?

Yes, only where an explicitly configured signed scoring policy applies. Blank objective answers score zero under that policy, not an omission penalty. Legacy and manual/rubric bounds do not silently change.

Join live work and exit tickets

  1. Use Join a live activity, enter the code and confirm your eligible session. Questions follow the instructor’s open/close/advance controls. Save your own response and wait for confirmation.
  2. Race scoring uses frozen participants/team sizes and no speed bonus. A late eligible participant may answer without adding race points. Exit tickets are ungraded; private open text does not appear on the classroom projection.

Your own response is private; explicit instructor disclosure determines visible scores/answers. Exit tickets are not anonymous and do not infer attendance.

Common questions

Why cannot I see everyone’s responses?

Student and classroom views are restricted. Authorized staff can review private responses; the projection receives only the permitted revealed components.

Read released progress and manage preferences

  1. Open your own results or class progress. Only explicitly released components appear; submission is not release. A newer private regrade does not replace your last released snapshot until staff re-release.
  2. The gradebook uses explicit weights and latest eligible released attempts, not hidden best/average selection. Missing/unreleased work is not silently zero; excused and fully excluded evidence leave the denominator. Available weighted percentage and completion are separate, not an official course grade.
  3. Read Privacy or use Contact Us for review requests. Signed-in Feature suggestions stores your proposal privately without promising implementation. Cookie preferences can withdraw saved language/appearance without signing you out.

Contact forms store requests, not send email, verify identity or automatically delete immutable learning history. Do not include real personal data, passwords or identity documents during development.

Common questions

Why is my gradebook percentage blank?

There may be no available included released score, or score disclosure is hidden. Empty denominators show no percentage rather than an invented 100%. Ask staff about release, not private marking details.

Does excusal correct attendance?

No. Gradebook excusal changes the disclosed aggregation policy only. Attendance corrections follow their own reviewed workflow.
